OUR TEAM

Pastor Duane has been the Senior Pastor at San Jose Open Bible Church since September 1994. Prior to that, he served his first ten years of ministry as a Youth Pastor in Minnesota, Iowa and Oregon. He is a 1984 graduate of Open Bible College in Des Moines, Iowa with a degree in Pastoral Theology.

Pastor Duane has been active in the San Jose community through coaching various sports and is a Volunteer Community Chaplain with San Jose Police Department. His passion is to bridge the gap between the local church and the community it is called to serve in by providing a caring approach to building relationships.

A gifted communicator, Pastor Duane brings the Bible to life through relevant and current teaching, challenging its hearers to grow in their relationship with God. Through his leadership, the church has grown from its original twelve members to become a loving and safe place for people to heal and grow as they learn to connect with God, others and with the community around them.

Pastor Duane and his wife Rachel have four boys, Caleb, Joshua, Aaron and Luke and have been married since July of 1989.
